Photo London -  for the John Kobal Residency Award which supported a photographer during a two month residency in New York to enable him/her to produce new work there and meet American galleries, museum curators and collectors.

2013

Maja Daniels for her project, River Valley Vernacular, photographed in the Swedish valley of Alvdalen which to this day speaks the near-extinct ancient language of Elfdalian - a community with a dark, insular spirit”.  This was published as a book, Elf Dalia, by Mack Books in May 2019.

National Media Museum First Book Award, part of the 2013 Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards, in partnership with MACK.
The foundation provided part of the funding for this new award to support the publication of a book by a previously unpublished photographer. The winner of the First Book Award 2013 is the young American photographer Paul Salveson with his series of absurdist constructions in which commonplace objects are jocosely rendered in polychromatic puzzles. The book published for the award adopts the form of a children's board book, an extraordinary and ungainly object which further emphasises the incongruous nature of Salveson's work.

Photovoice (2009 to 2013)
This is the fourth year, and final year, of a project, with the award-winning international charity, which helps underwrite projects which empower some of the most disadvantaged groups in the world with photographic skills so that they can transform their lives. Through photography these individuals find confidence in their voices and are enabled to speak out about their challenges, concerns, hopes and fears.

National Gallery, London - Seduced by Art: Photography Past and Present

The grant was for the educational programme being mounted in conjunction with this ground-breaking exhibition which presented major photographers working today who trace their sources back to 19th century photography and often, surprisingly, to more distant art historic traditions.

National Portrait Gallery, London 2012 - 2017
Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2012 / 8 November 2012 - 17 February 2013. This year, and for the tive following years, the foundation - as part of the Taylor Wessing - gave a John Kobal New Work Award to a photographer under 30 who was be selected by the foundation from around 60 photographers selected for this exhibition by the NPG's judges. The winning photographer undertook a commission for the NPG to photograph a sitter connected with the UK film industry.
